For this tutorial I will use the following texture and image:







1. Make your image grayscale by going to Adjust > Hue and saturation > Colorize & set the saturation to 0. Paste this above your texture and set the opacity to 65. You should have this:



2. Now paste the orignal (coloured version) of the image above this. Set it to Lighten and move it to a position you think looks effective.



3. Add a white colour burst on to a new layer by using a circular brush and setting the hardness to 15. Set this layer to screen. Finally go to Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen and the result will be this:
